This recipe has been in my folder for many years. And it has been on my all-time favorites baking to-do list since then. The moment has finally arrived! And voila’! Here it is. Nutty, moist and chocolaty.
It reminds me of the time my girlfriends and I used to spend together. This is the cake that my Moroccan friend used to make for us. That final rosewater touch was the cherry on the cake! Indescribably delicious. And talking about cherries on the cake.. She actually did add cherries to this cake.
I decided to vary this one a little bit. So I went ahead and left the cherries out, and added dried rose petals instead. What I particularly love about this cake is that it is already moist, even before you sprinkle the rosewater syrup on top. This one is a must-try. Scout’s honor!
